Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike on Friday denounced the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, whom he accused of telling many lies in his recent interview with Arise TV.
Wike made the remarks in a chat with journalists at Port Harcourt International Airport and promised to speak his own truth in response to the attitude of Atiku and his people.
His words: said, “I have decided to be quiet because PDP is a party I love so much. I have moved on to conclude my social contract with Rivers people. However, it is time to let Nigerians know the truth.”
It is important that we set the record straight when issues are raised and when speeches are made. After the primaries, you can imagine the kind of speech the PDP candidate made when he introduced his candidate, no right thinking person or member will not have seen it. So many lies are concocted; look at the statements made against me by his attack dogs, Sule Lamido and others.
“When a presidential candidate who thinks he wants to win the election comes up to attack me, his strongest competitor in the party, it is important to say that Atiku has not been fair.
“We must come clean on the PDP and the primaries, I will definitely speak out.
Nigerians will know what is behind this, I will speak, it has nothing to do with whether I like you or not, it is about setting the facts straight.” He said
