Chelsea legend John Terry has reacted to the latest news from the club on Monday afternoon.
Chelsea had announced that the club had given defender Reece James a new six-year contract until 2028 at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues, who are under the guidance of new American owners, have made securing the 22-year-old’s long-term future at the west London club one of their priorities.
James, along with midfielder Mason Mount, were among the lowest-paid players in Chelsea’s first team, which does not reflect their importance on the pitch.
Terry, in a tweet via his Twitter account, praised Thomas Tuchel’s side for signing James, adding that Mount was next in line.
The former England centre-back tweeted, “Love this @ChelseaFC.
“Congrats @ReeceJames Invest and build the squad but also secure the future of our homegrown players @masonmount_10 next.”
