Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje has inaugurated all elected party officials in the 44 Local Government Areas and 484 Wards of the state ahead of the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress.
The inauguration, which was on zonal basis, ended with Kano North Senatorial District on Tuesday.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, and released to the press in Kano on Wednesday.
At each of the ceremonies, Ganduje stressed, “As duly elected officials of the party whose election was certified through the party’s normal electoral process and confirmed by the Court of Appeal, you should exert yourselves and make our party stronger.
“Since Kano is the largest democracy in Nigeria, we have every reason to set the pace for the survival of democracy and strengthening of democracy in the country. You should go to all nooks and crannies of the state and ensure that our party remains strong,” Anwar quoted the governor as saying in the statement.
A total of 16 LGAs comprising 172 wards in Kano South have 4,644 party officials from 172 wards and 432 officials from the 16 LGAs.
In Kano Central, which comprises 15 LGAs, there are 172 wards. There, there are 4,644 party officials from 172 wards and 405 officials from the 15 LGAs.
Kano North with 13 LGAs has 351 party officials from the 13 LGAs and 3,780 officials from 140 districts.
According to the statement, Ganduje assured all party officials of his unwavering support to strengthen the party.
