IPOB :- Nnamdi Kanu stopped the sit-at-home, not Uzodimma

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has insisted that its leadership ended Monday’s sit-in strike and not Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma

The group pointed out that Uzodimma was unable to end a sit-in ordered by IPOB.

IPOB’s media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, said in a statement Thursday that IPOB started the “infamous” sit-in strike on Monday in 2021, but then called it off on the advice of its jailed leader, Nnamdi Kanu, due to appeals from elders and traditional rulers in the Southeast.

The group added that Uzodimma’s statement that he stopped IPOB’s sit-in in Imo State showed that he was not properly informed.

The statement said, “Following the lifting of the Monday sit-in by IPOB last year, we, the global movement and the family of IPOB, wish to remind the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, that it was not him who stopped the Monday sit-in in Imo State, but our leader through the leadership of IPOB.

“IPOB would like to remind Hope Uzodinma that he is not in a position to stop sit-at-homes initiated by IPOB. Yes, IPOB started the infamous Monday sit-at-home last year but called it off on the advice of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and appeals from elders and traditional rulers in our area.

“For Uzodimma to claim that he has stopped the sit-in by IPOB in Imo State shows that he is not properly informed. IPOB cannot give an order and hope that Uzodinma will stop him because IPOB is an Iroko tree planted by God that nobody can topple.

“We are not responsible for any non-existent Monday meetings that Hope Uzodimma claims and rambles about. As long as IPOB is concerned, our people go about their business freely on Mondays without being harassed.

“Our people love and respect IPOB’s orders when called upon because they know we are fighting for their welfare and that of their children,” she said.

“We have washed our hands of this for a long time and have repeatedly communicated our position to the people of the region,” he said.

“Our people are the IPOB and the IPOB are our people. We understand each other and we pull together anytime, any day.”
