A woman simply known as Bimbo, who lives in Osogbo, Osun State, has narrated her ordeal in the hands of suspected kidnappers who allegedly abducted her while she was driving from one part of the metropolis to another.
In a viral video leaked to our correspondent on Wednesday, Bimbo said she was riding a commercial motorcycle towards Ayetoro, Osogbo, but was later joined by another male passenger who sat on her back.
Instead of riding the motorcycle towards Ayetoro, Bimbo said the driver turned into Oja Oba area and headed towards Osogbo/Ilesa Road.
When she protested that the motorcycle was not heading towards Ayetoro Road, the male passenger threatened to kill her if she raised the alarm, the victim explained.
“Later, I was taken to a place where a minibus was waiting with some passengers already inside and I was pushed into the bus,” she said.
“The bus was heading towards Ilesa, and just before entering the town, the bus stopped. Our kidnappers took out a talisman and touched the heads of all the kidnapped with it, whereupon they realized that I would not be useful to them.
“They took the money I had with me and pushed me into the bush. From there, I managed to crawl back to the road and get into a vehicle that went to Osogbo,” she added.
The state Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Funke Egbemode, reacted to the incident in a statement, saying criminals had infiltrated the ranks of commercial transport operators in the state.
She therefore urged residents to be more security conscious and avoid motorcycles, minibuses or buses without license plates.
