Labour Party:Dave Nnamani promises to revive previous policy in Enugu

The governorship candidate in Enugu State, Dr. Davidson Nnamani, and his running mate, Ocho Obodoeze, have pledged to replicate the good policies of past state leaders, starting from the time of Dr. Nnamdi Azikwe to the present administration in the state.

Nnamani pointed out that there were unique and strategic policies of some past administrators in Enugu that promoted economic growth, unity and industrialization, which made the coal state the envy of other states and regions in the past.

He cited as examples the agricultural and industrial policies of Michael Okpara, the education and health policies of Jim Nwobodo, the urban renewal policies of Sullivan Chime and other good programs that accelerated the development of the state in the past.

According to Nnamani, the winds of real change are blowing in Enugu State and across Nigeria with Peter Obi and the Workers Party as the chosen vehicles of that change.

He explained that the Workers Party under the leadership of Peter Obi as presidential candidate and Datti Baba-Ahmed, the vice presidential candidate, as well as himself and Obodoeze as governor/deputy in Enugu State are bringing good news to Nigerians.

“We are on a salvation mission to bring good leadership to Nigeria and Enugu State. We are seasoned professionals in various fields; Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed’s credentials are impeccable and already public knowledge, and the Enugu State governorship aspirant and his deputy are local children who live with you and know your pains,” Nnamani said.

According to Davidson, he grew up on the streets of Enugu and vividly recalled living in a housing estate in Uwani, playing soccer in Ngwo Park and enjoying Mmanwu festivals in Obiagu, Coal Camp and Abakpa-Nike.

“I drank from Ufam spring in Ozalla, in Nkanu West local government. I lived in Ndiabo, in Aniri Local Government Area, where I saw them worshipping the snakes. My siblings are married in Udi and Ezeagu respectively. I study history and appreciate the work of past administrations, from the old Eastern Region to today.

“Our government will revive the agricultural and industrial programs of Michael Iheonukara Okpara. We will benefit from the charismatic vision of Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, founder of ASUTECH, which gave birth to ESUT, Nnamdi Azikiwe University and Ebonyi State University.

“We know that the dream of Chief C.C. Onoh of a Wawaland flowing with milk and honey, the triangular equilibrium of Okwesilieze Nwodo that maintained peace and justice in old Enugu State, the creative youthful energy of Chimaroke Nnamani that he deployed at the young age of 39, the infrastructural development of Sullivan Chime and the peaceful men of  Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi I will be rejuvenated and strengthened,” Nnamani promised.

Davidson Nnajioffor Nnamani was born in 1965 in Ogor, Ikem, Isi-uzo Local Government Area, in the humble home of Chief and Mrs. A. K. Wright Nnamani and is married to Mrs. Chinwe Nnamani. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the then Anambra State University of Science and Technology, Awka, now Nnamdi Azikiwe University, a Master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna.

His thinking is very eclectic: “I study history and appreciate the work of past governments, from the old Eastern Region to today. The Workers’ Party is the face of the new Nigeria, the face of hope. We are all-inclusive and we will make Nigeria and Enugu State a country/state of production and not consumption.

“For the youth, the elderly, the unemployed and the people without structure, we bring you hope.

For the women: We know their importance and productivity. And we will go beyond the usual 35 percent to inspire you to unleash your innate energy and creativity.

We are grassroots politicians in touch with the pains and hardships of the people at the grassroots and in the 260 constituencies in Enugu State.

“We will collect water from the available streams in the districts, treat it and pipe it to the adjoining communities; we will establish productivity centers for our youths and the unemployed. We will establish these centers after they are completed and make them productive to train and employ more people. We will create an environment that allows the elderly to enjoy their retirement in peace and happiness. We will provide them with respectful conditions
