Meet Osimhen, Bassey and five other Nigerian players set to play in the UCL this season
The striker will lead Napoli in their chase for a maiden UEFA Champions League title. The 23-year-old scored 14 goals in 27 league games for the ‘Partenopei’ last season.
It is the second time Victor Osimhen has played in the competition, having previously played for French club Lille.
Calvin Bassey joined Eredivisie champions Ajax Amsterdam this summer and will make his debut in the competition.
Bassey reached the UEFA Europa League final last season with his former club Glasgow Rangers.
The left-back scored the decisive goal to win the Portuguese league title for FC Porto last season.
It is the third time Zaidu Sanusi has played for his club in the competition.
AKINKUNMI AMOO & PAUL MUKAIRU
Akinkunmi Amoo and Paul Mukairu will have their first real baptism of fire in the UEFA Champions League with Danish SuperLiga club FC Copenhagen.
Copenhagen will face Manchester City, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund in Group G.
Former Golden Eaglets captain Samson Tijani and his Red Bull Salzburg teammates will face former champions Chelsea and AC Milan as well as Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia in Group E.
The little-known striker is on loan from Norwegian club Ferencvaros to Czech club Viktoria Plzen. He will make his debut in this competition.
