Daniel Ricciardo has said he will leave McLaren at the end of the season after both parties agreed to terminate his contract early.
Ricciardo, who has not been at his best of late, joined Mclaren in 2021 and signed a three-year contract.
“It has been a privilege to be a part of the McLaren Racing family for the last two seasons,” he said.
“After several months of discussions with Zak and Andreas, we have decided to terminate my contract with the team early and agree that we will part ways at the end of the season.
“I will announce my own plans for the future in due course, but regardless of what the next chapter brings, I have no regrets and am proud of the commitment and work I gave to McLaren, in particular winning at Monza last season,” McLaren said.
There are rumours that McLaren has a deal in place with Oscar Piastri to replace fellow Australian Ricciardo. However, Alpine are reported to have a deal with the young Australian.
